Remediation & Live Workaround Commands

PATCH & WORKAROUND

1. Official Patch & Version Upgrade Commands

At the time of writing, the vendor has not responded to the disclosure, and no official patch is available. Organizations must implement temporary workarounds and access controls immediately to mitigate the risk. Monitor vendor advisories closely for future security updates.

2. Temporary Workaround & Hardening Configuration

Block external access to the vulnerable endpoint /isomp-protocol/protocol/session using a reverse proxy or web application firewall (WAF).

nginx
# Add this block to your Nginx configuration file (e.g., /etc/nginx/nginx.conf)
server {
    listen 80;
    listen 443 ssl;
    server_name sangfor.local;

    # Block access to the vulnerable SSH protocol handler endpoint
    location /isomp-protocol/protocol/session {
        deny all;
        return 403;
    }
}

3. Log Audit & IoC Verification Commands

Use the following Bash script to scan web server access logs for potential exploitation attempts targeting the keypassword parameter.

bash
#!/bin/bash
# Define the path to your web server access logs
LOG_DIR='/var/log/nginx'

echo '[+] Starting IoC scan for CVE-2026-1324...'

if [ -d '$LOG_DIR' ]; then
    # Search for the vulnerable endpoint and suspicious shell metacharacters in the query string
    grep -rE '/isomp-protocol/protocol/session.*(keypassword=.*[;&|`\$])' '$LOG_DIR' > /tmp/detected_iocs.log

    if [ -s /tmp/detected_iocs.log ]; then
        echo '[!] WARNING: Potential exploitation attempts detected. Review /tmp/detected_iocs.log:'
        cat /tmp/detected_iocs.log
    else
        echo '[+] No suspicious requests detected.'
    fi
else
    echo '[-] Log directory not found. Please verify the path.'

Technical Root Cause & Exploitation Mechanics

1. Vulnerability Overview & Root Cause

This vulnerability (CVE-2026-1324) is an OS command injection flaw identified in the SSH Protocol Handler component of the Sangfor Operation and Maintenance Management System. The root cause lies within the SessionController function of the /isomp-protocol/protocol/session file. Due to insufficient input validation and sanitization of the keypassword parameter, user-supplied input is directly passed to the system shell, allowing arbitrary command execution.

2. Exploitation Mechanics & Attack Scenario

An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by targeting the exposed API endpoint. The attack scenario proceeds as follows:

  • The attacker crafts an HTTP request directed at the /isomp-protocol/protocol/session endpoint.
  • The attacker injects shell metacharacters (such as ;, &, |, or ` `) followed by malicious OS commands into the keypassword` parameter.
  • When the backend processes the request, the unsanitized parameter is executed within the system shell context, granting the attacker arbitrary command execution under the privileges of the web server process.

Since a public exploit is available, active exploitation attempts should be anticipated.

3. Infrastructure & Business Impact

With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), this vulnerability poses an extreme risk to organization infrastructures. Successful exploitation allows complete system compromise, enabling attackers to establish persistent access, pivot to internal networks, exfiltrate sensitive data, or deploy ransomware. Given that this system manages critical operations and maintenance, the potential business impact is severe.

Official Vendor Advisories & References

NVD Original English Description

A vulnerability was identified in Sangfor Operation and Maintenance Management System up to 3.0.12. Affected by this issue is the function SessionController of the file /isomp-protocol/protocol/session of the component SSH Protocol Handler. The manipulation of the argument keypassword leads to os command injection. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
