Immediately update the Kali Forms plugin to version 2.4.30 or later
Affected Products & Version Scope
Remediation & Live Workaround Commands
PATCH & WORKAROUND1. Official Patch & Version Upgrade Commands
Use the WordPress CLI (WP-CLI) to immediately upgrade the Kali Forms plugin to the patched version (2.4.30 or later).
# Update the Kali Forms plugin to the secure version
wp plugin update kali-forms --version=2.4.30
# Verify the installed version and status
wp plugin list --name=kali-forms2. Temporary Workaround & Hardening Configuration
If patching cannot be applied immediately, mitigate the risk by blocking unauthorized access to the specific AJAX action via web server configuration or disabling user registration.
# Block unauthorized access to the test email AJAX action in Nginx
location ~* /wp-admin/admin-ajax\.php {
if ($args ~* 'action=kali_forms_send_test_email') {
return 403 'Access Denied: Unauthorized Action';
}
try_files $uri =404;
}3. Log Audit & IoC Verification Commands
Run the following commands to inspect web server access logs for potential exploitation attempts and verify the currently active plugin version.
# 1. Search access logs for the Kali Forms test email action
grep -i 'kali_forms_send_test_email' /var/log/nginx/access.log /var/log/apache2/access.log 2>/dev/null
# 2. Check the currently installed version of Kali Forms
grep -i 'Version:' /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/kali-forms/kali-forms.php 2>/dev/nullBlock Exploits Instantly with Managed Virtual Patching Rules

Technical Root Cause & Exploitation Mechanics
1. Vulnerability Overview & Root Cause
This vulnerability (CVE-2026-107343) exists in the Kali Forms WordPress plugin due to a missing capability check on its test-email handler. The plugin relied solely on a security nonce for authorization. However, because this nonce is accessible to any logged-in user (including low-privileged roles like Subscribers), it fails to enforce proper access control (CWE-862), allowing unauthorized actions.
2. Exploitation Mechanics & Attack Scenario
An attacker first authenticates to the target WordPress site with a low-privileged account, such as a Subscriber. Once logged in, the attacker retrieves the valid nonce generated for the session. By crafting a direct HTTP request to the test-email AJAX/REST handler and appending the acquired nonce, the attacker can trigger the email sending function. The attacker can manipulate parameters to specify arbitrary recipients and spoof the sender address, leveraging the host server's mail system.
3. Infrastructure & Business Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows malicious actors to use the organization's trusted domain and mail server infrastructure to distribute spam, phishing campaigns, or malware. This abuse can severely damage the domain's reputation, leading to the domain or mail server IP being blacklisted on major Real-time Blackhole Lists (RBLs) and disrupting legitimate business communications.
Official Vendor Advisories & References
The Kali Forms — Contact Form & Drag-and-Drop Builder WordPress plugin before 2.4.30 does not perform a capability check on its test-email handler, relying only on a nonce that is available to any logged-in user, so a low-privileged user such as a Subscriber can make the site send email to an arbitrary recipient with a spoofed sender address.
