Langflow exec_globals Parameter Validation Flaw Leading to Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution (CVE-2026-0770)
Executive & SecOps Summary
SECOPS ASSESSMENTActive deployments of Langflow utilizing the `validate` API endpoint.
Unauthenticated remote attackers can execute arbitrary code with root privileges by exploiting untrusted resource inclusion.
Immediately upgrade Langflow to the latest patched version and restrict external access to the validation endpoint.
Affected Products & Version Scope
Remediation & Live Workaround Commands
PATCH & WORKAROUND1. Official Patch Application (Recommended)
Upgrade your Langflow package to the latest secure version:
pip install --upgrade langflow
# Or pull the latest Docker image
docker pull langflowai/langflow:latest2. Temporary Mitigation (WAF & Network Access Control)
If patching cannot be applied immediately, block external access to the vulnerable endpoint.
- Nginx Reverse Proxy Configuration:
location /api/v1/validate {
deny all;
return 403;
}- WAF Rule Implementation:
Configure your Web Application Firewall to inspect HTTP POST requests to the validation endpoint and block payloads containing suspicious exec_globals parameters or external resource references.
Block Exploits Instantly with Managed Virtual Patching Rules
Can't patch production immediately? Deploy managed WAF rules at the edge to intercept RCE, SQLi, and deserialization payloads before they hit your origin server.
Technical Root Cause & Exploitation Mechanics
This vulnerability (CVE-2026-0770) exists within the handling of the exec_globals parameter provided to the validate endpoint in Langflow. The root cause is the inclusion of functionality from an untrusted control sphere (CWE-829), allowing an attacker to inject malicious resources.
Because authentication is not required to exploit this flaw, remote attackers can easily trigger the vulnerability. Successful exploitation results in arbitrary code execution under the context of the root user, potentially leading to full container or host compromise. This vulnerability is actively exploited in the wild (CISA KEV listed) and carries an extremely high EPSS score of 0.94.
